Η L-καρνιτίνη ανακαλύφθηκε το 1905. Αποτελεί ένα υδατοδιαλυτό καρβοξυλικό οξύ μικρής αλύσου και συντίθεται φυσιολογικά από τον ανθρώπινο οργανισμό από 2 αμινοξέα, τη λυσίνη και τη μεθειονίνη. Είναι μία από τις δημοφιλέστερες ουσίες η οποία χρησιμοποιείται κατά κόρον σε λιποδιαλυτικά σκευάσματα.
Πρόκειται για μία σημαντική ουσία, πρωταγωνιστική σε έναν από τους κυριότερους μηχανισμούς μεταβολισμού των λιπαρών οξέων στα μιτοχόνδρια, και ουσιαστικά της υδρόλυσης των λιπών και της δημιουργίας ενέργειας. Το 98% της L-καρνιτίνης εντοπίζεται στις μυϊκές ομάδες και αποτελεί μέρος του ενζυμικού συστήματος μεταφοράς των λιπαρών οξέων μέσης αλύσου στο εσωτερικό του μιτοχονδρίου των μυϊκών κυττάρων. Εκεί λαμβάνεται χώρα η οξείδωσή τους με σκοπό τη διαδικασία παραγωγής ενέργειας.
Η L-καρνιτίνη είναι χρήσιμη για την καρδιαγγειακή υγεία, τον έλεγχο του βάρους, την αντιμετώπιση των ιών, τη βελτίωση της κινητικότητας του σπέρματος, την αύξηση της αεροβικής αντοχής και την ανάκαμψη από άσκηση υψηλής έντασης.
Επίσης, βοηθάει στη διαδικασία της θερμογένεσης και ρυθμίζει τη γλυκογένεση (glycogenesis ή glyconeogenesis).
Άτομα που ακολουθούν μια χορτοφαγική διατροφή ή άτομα με αδυναμία επαρκούς σύνθεσης L-καρνιτίνης, όταν τα επίπεδά της στις μυϊκές ομάδες είναι χαμηλότερα από το φυσιολογικό, έχουν ανάγκη συμπληρωματικής λήψης L-καρνιτίνης.
Χρήση:
Λαμβάνετε 1 κάψουλα μία έως τρεις φορές ημερησίως με ή χωρίς φαγητό, ως συμπλήρωμα διατροφής.
