Good to know — video only (no audio)
HDMI and DVI-D are both digital video and are compatible, so this passive adapter needs no electronics. However DVI does not carry audio, so when connecting HDMI to a DVI display sound is not passed through — route audio separately. The DVI end is DVI-D (digital); it does not ouTPUt analog VGA. You also need an HDMI cable and a DVI cable to complete the link.
