Compatibility — read before buying
The host USB-C port must support DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode (compatible with DP 1.2 at lower resolutions). Reaching 8K@60Hz or 4K@144Hz requires DSC support on both device and display; without DSC the maximum is 8K@30Hz or 4K@120Hz. On macOS and iOS devices, ouTPUt is typically limited to 4K@60Hz.
