A hardware mode switch lets you select Single, RAID 0, RAID 1 or LARGE, so you can mirror two drives for resilience or combine them for capacity and speed, and it ships diskless so you choose your own drives. Before you order
Drives are not included — buy two 3.5-inch SATA HDDs or SSDs separately. RAID is set with a hardware mode switch and changing mode erases the disks. Note that RAID 1 mirroring protects against a drive failure, but is not a backup — keep a separate copy of important data. The enclosure is mains-powered and connects over USB 3.0.
