EIZO ColorEdge CG2400SV — 24" Video Reference Monitor

EIZO's broadcast-grade 24" reference monitor — the video-tuned twin of CG2400S. Rec.2020 + DCI-P3 emulation, HLG and PQ HDR support, built-in self-calibration sensor.
Built-in self-cal sensorRec.2020 · DCI-P3 · Rec.709HLG · PQ HDR5-yr EIZO warranty

The EIZO ColorEdge CG2400SV is the video-tuned twin of the CG2400S — same 24" WUXGA chassis and built-in motorised self-calibration sensor, but with broadcast video features front-and-centre: HLG and PQ HDR signal acceptance, Rec.2020 / DCI-P3 / Rec.709 gamut emulation, safe-area markers and EIZO ColorNavigator NX video calibration workflows. Engineered for broadcast colourists, on-set DITs, post-production reference monitoring and HDR mastering at a 24" desktop scale.

Best For
✓ Broadcast colour grading
✓ On-set DIT & dailies review
✓ Post-production reference
✓ HDR mastering (HLG / PQ)
✓ Live broadcast control rooms
✓ VFX / animation studios

Key Features

Built-in self-calibration sensor
Embedded motorised colorimeter recalibrates the 16-bit 3D LUT automatically — no missed calibration cycles, no external probe. The defining ColorEdge CG-series feature.

Rec.2020 + DCI-P3 + Rec.709 emulation
Native colour space presets for broadcast HDR (Rec.2020), cinema mastering (DCI-P3) and broadcast SDR (Rec.709). Toggle between modes via ColorNavigator without recalibrating.

HLG + PQ HDR signal support
Hybrid Log-Gamma and Perceptual Quantizer HDR signal acceptance for broadcast HDR workflows. Reference HDR mastering at 24" desktop scale (peak 400 cd/m² — verify HDR delivery requirements).

Broadcast features
Safe-area markers, frame-rate display, HDR signal scopes via ColorNavigator NX, pixel-inspector and false-colour modes. Designed for the colourist + DIT workflow, not just photo.

Frequently Asked Questions

CG2400SV vs CG2400S — which one do I need?
Same 24" chassis and built-in self-cal sensor. CG2400SV (this model) adds broadcast video features: Rec.2020 / DCI-P3 / Rec.709 emulation modes, HLG and PQ HDR signal support, safe-area markers, ColorNavigator NX video workflows. Pick SV for broadcast and post-production. Pick S for prepress and print proofing where video features are irrelevant.
Is it bright enough for true HDR mastering?
400 cd/m² peak is sufficient for HDR review and editorial reference but not for HDR1000+ mastering. For HDR-1000-level brightness, look at EIZO ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG3146 or EIZO CG3145.
Why WUXGA (1920×1200) and not 4K?
At 24" WUXGA pixel density (~94 ppi) matches typical desktop viewing distance and is the long-standing broadcast reference standard. For 4K reference work pick CG3146 / CG2700X.
Does it support hardware calibration with external probes too?
Yes — even with the built-in sensor, ColorNavigator supports X-Rite/Calibrite i1 Display Pro / Studio, Datacolor Spyder X / X2 and EIZO sensors as alternates. Cross-validate the internal sensor against an external probe.
Singular Expert Insight
Choose CG2400SV if you work in broadcast colour, post-production reference, on-set DIT or HDR editorial review — the video-specific features (HLG/PQ, Rec.2020 emulation, safe-area markers) and built-in self-cal sensor justify the SV premium. For print and prepress, the CG2400S is the right SKU. For HDR1000+ mastering, look at the EIZO PROMINENCE CG3146 or CG2700X.

Buyer's Guide

Buy it if
You work in broadcast colour, post-production reference monitoring, HDR editorial or on-set DIT — need Rec.2020/DCI-P3/Rec.709 emulation plus HLG/PQ HDR signal support.
Skip it if
You only do prepress / photo (use CG2400S — same chassis, cheaper, no video extras) or you need 4K resolution / HDR1000 mastering (use CG3146 / CG2700X).
Also consider
EIZO CG2400S (prepress twin), EIZO CG3146 PROMINENCE (HDR1000 mastering) or EIZO CG2700X (4K HDR creative).
