The U7 Pro Max is a ceiling unit with more radio capacity - 8 streams, ~15GBps and 500+ clients - but a 2.5G uplink. The U7 Pro XG Wall is a wall-mount unit with a 10GBE uplink and 6 streams. Choose the Max for client density, the XG Wall for a 10G wired link and discreet wall placement.
Does the U7 Pro Max need a UniFi controller?
Yes. It is managed by the UniFi Network application (version 8.2.93 or later) running on a UniFi Cloud Gateway, Cloud Key or hosted server, so it is designed to join a UniFi network rather than run standalone.
What power and cabling does it need?
PoE+ (802.3at) over a single 1/2.5GBE cable. A UniFi PoE+ switch supplies power directly; otherwise a PoE+ injector is required and is not included.
Does the U7 Pro Max have a 10G port?
