The Jabra Engage 45 SE is Jabra's entry into the Engage SE line — a professional DECT wireless headset for contact centres and office workers who need secure, stable wireless without the interference and pairing hassles of Bluetooth. The stereo (both-ear) design and dual ECM + MEMS microphone deliver clean voice in both directions, while a 290mAh battery powers up to 13 hours of talk time. The included Link 400 USB-A adapter plugs into a PC or Mac for instant DECT pairing with all major softphones. Integrated busylight on the headset tells colleagues you're on a call; on-ear buttons handle answer / end, mute and volume. EMEA DECT frequency variant.

Why DECT instead of Bluetooth?
DECT uses a dedicated radio band, so it doesn't share airtime with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth mice/keyboards or other BT headsets in a crowded office. It also covers up to 150m vs typical 10-30m for Bluetooth, and supports enterprise-grade encryption.
Do I need a desk phone or is the dongle enough?
The Link 400 USB-A adapter is included and connects the headset to a PC or Mac softphone — no separate desk phone needed. The headset is also compatible with an existing Engage 65 base if you have one.
Will this EMEA SKU work in North America?
No. DECT operates on different frequencies by region, and the 9659-523-111 EMEA SKU should only be used in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Use the matching NA SKU for the US / Canada.
Stereo or Mono — which is better?
Stereo covers both ears for stronger acoustic focus — preferred in noisy open-plan rooms. Mono (9653-523-111) keeps one ear free for floor awareness. Convertible (9655-523-111) lets you switch between headband, earhook and neckband wearing styles.
