No — it is a directional outdoor bridge/CPE for building-to-building or ISP subscriber links, not an omnidirectional home AP. Pair it with a router or an airCube indoors.
What is the difference between the NSM2 and the NSM5?
Frequency band: the NSM2 runs at 2.4 GHz (longer reach, more interference, ~150 Mbps), the NSM5 at 5 GHz (cleaner spectrum, higher speed, 16 dBi antenna). For new PtP links, 5 GHz is usually the better choice unless trees or distance dictate 2.4 GHz.
Do I need two units for a link?
For a point-to-point bridge, yes — one at each end. In PtMP subscriber networks, one airMAX AP (e.g. a Rocket with sector antenna) serves many NanoStations in station mode.
