What does “high density” mean on the DS3608-HD?

HD optics are tuned for very small, dense barcodes: it decodes 3 mil Code 128 — bars just 0.076 mm wide, barely visible to the eye — and 5 mil PDF417, the codes used on electronics, PCBs and medical instruments. Standard scanners typically stop at 4–5 mil.

Which cable do I need for the DS3608-HD20003VZWW?

This part number is scanner-only. For USB hosts order a Zebra shielded USB cable such as CBA-U42-S07PAR; RS232 and Keyboard Wedge cables are also available. The scanner auto-detects the interface from the attached cable.

Can it read barcodes on phone screens and damaged labels?
