Datalogic's STAR Cordless System operates on the narrow-band 433 MHz frequency, which is less congested than the 2.4 GHz band used by Bluetooth. This provides a more stable radio link in busy retail environments with many Wi-Fi access points and other 2.4 GHz devices. For environments where 433 MHz is restricted, a Bluetooth version (GBT4200) is available.

Can the battery be replaced in the field?

Yes — the Li-Ion battery is user-replaceable. Spare batteries can be charged independently using an optional multi-battery charger, enabling continuous operation in high-volume shift environments.

Is a power supply included for the base?

No — the WLC4190 base in this kit is powered via the included USB cable connected to a host PC or POS terminal. If you need to power the base independently from the mains, a separate Datalogic power supply is required.
